We used lyrics today to a song from "City of Angels." We said some of the lines in different ways: love, anger, seduce, afraid. It's all about versatility. It helps actors get into their character better or understand their character. That's not exactly what I mean but it is the closest to what I'm trying to say.
I'm starting to remember last year's workshop a little better. I remember working on a specific monologue with Jill and it was hysterical because I had to play the sexual character. Innocent me playing a sexy girl who can't stop thinking about guys and doing things with guys. Yup - THAT makes sense. But this is what I really like about theater- you get to be people you wouldn't normally be!
